What type of information do I collect, how do I collect it, and with whom do I share it?
I receive, collect, and store any information you enter on my website’s contact form or provide to me in any other way (usually by email or completing a google form). In almost every case, this includes your name, email, and basic information about your project (for example, title, genre, and word count). If we choose to work together, it will also include your pen name(s), your phone number, and a way to bill you for my services. I will only share your information if you give me permission or if I am required to by law. I may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page.
Why do I collect such personal information?
I collect your information so that we may discuss your project and I can provide the services we agree on, to contact you during and after the project, and to understand how visitors use the website.
How do I use this information?
I use this information to communicate with you about your project and for my internal accounting and analysis purposes. I may also use basic information in my portfolio once your story is published. This will in almost all cases be limited to the genre, cover, title, pen name.
My company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
How long will I keep your information?
Because the majority of the authors I work with write stories related to each other, I keep your information indefinitely. I will delete it at your request.
How do I store your information?
I store your information in google sheets, google documents, google forms, dropbox, sync, and on my computer hard drive. I back up to Carbonite, and may also back up files to OneDrive. After your project is complete, I will move it and any documents created for the project (such as style sheets, character sheets, story bibles) to an external hard drive.
How do I communicate with my site visitors?
In most cases, I will contact you through email. From time to time, I will also contact you by phone or by another means we set up ahead of time to discuss your project and items related to it such as billing. In rare cases, I will contact you by mail.
Cookies are small pieces of data stored on a site visitor's browser. They are typically used to keep track of the settings users have selected and actions they have taken on a site.
